Ganassi Racing WINS Record Breaking 6th Rolex 24hr with PFC Brakes

(CLOVER, SC) January 28, 2015 - PFC Brakes congratulates the Ganassi Racing No. 02 Target/Ford EcoBoost Prototype on their win of the Rolex 24hr race in Daytona this past weekend. This is be the Chip Ganassi with Felix Sabates' (CGRFS) team's 6th overall win with PFC Brakes at the Rolex 24-now holding the record for the most wins at this race in the 53 years it has been running.

 

 The CGRFS team has been racing with PFC brakes since their debut in the Daytona Prototype class. PFC Brakes has been the brake of choice  for all six wins of the Rolex 24hr at Daytona and every DP championship CGRFS has won-outfitting their cars again this year with PFC's Patented Continuous Fiber Carbon-Carbon full brake packages featuring Zero Drag?calipers, and PFC's carbon technologies. The No. 02 Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley Prototype was driven by team members Kyle Larson, Jamie McMurray, Tony Kanaan, and Scott Dixon who took them over the finish line with a 1.333 second victory over the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP. This was the first 24hr win for Kanaan, McMurray, and Larson-making McMurray - along with A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti- the only drivers to win both the Rolex and the Daytona 500.

 

On the very first lap of the 2015 24hr race, the No. 2 car took the lead and remained there for most of the first four hours of the race. Around halfway through the race, the No. 2 went down a lap, but with determination, a great car, and a great team, they rallied back into the first place position.

Pirelli World Challenge Winners SWEEP Weekend with PFC Brakes

August 25, 2014 (Clover, SC) - PFC Brakes swept the racing-packed weekend in Sonoma for the Pirelli World Challenge series, with wins in each of the different motorsports classes-GT, GT-A, and GTS. Anthony Lazzaro, Lawson Aschenbach, and Albert von Thurn each raced their way into victory lane, equipped with PFC Brakes.  

For the GT series, Lazzaro and his Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia took his second win of 2014 at the 2.385-mile Sonoma Raceway in Round 14 of the Pirelli World Challenge series. The No. 61 Ferrari had an exceptional race from the waving of the first green flag. The race ended with a detrimental wreck on lap 23 that occurred in turn 1, leading into the second and last caution of the race, with Lazzaro winning with a margin of 2.519 seconds in the lead. 

"The car's been perfect all weekend," said Lazzaro. "From here on out, it?s all about race wins, and we got another one today."

Lawson Aschenbach scored another win in the GTS series in the infamous No.1 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro, and was also awarded the "Invisible Glass Clean Pass of the Race" award in turn 11 of lap 3 when he forced his way into the 1st place position early on.

"It comes down to execution," said Aschenbach. "That's half the battle."

Von Thurn und Taxis won his very first GT-A race, driving the No. 24 Lamborghini Gallardo FL2. After battling through the leaders in the GT class, Thurn und Taxis found his strength and pushed through for his best career finish with the winning spot in Sonoma with PFC Brakes.
